Help Desk Manager (Los Angeles)

The Help Desk Manager is charged with leading the team responsible for end user support and training at the Firm. This includes support of all end-user hardware, software, mobile devices, applications, and related technologies that are needed for employees to perform their duties. The Help Desk Manager will work in tandem with the Engineering Manager to implement new technologies, policies, and best practices to support the growing technology needs of the Firm.

A successful Help Desk Manager must demonstrate a blend of technical skills, positive personality, customer service, leadership, dedication, and responsibility for the daily operations of the Firm. The Help Desk Manager must understand the use of technology in the practice of law.

The Help Desk Manager must perform the duties of the position according to the Firm's policies and procedures and maintain the confidentiality of client and Firm matters at all times.

Collections Specialist (Los Angeles)

Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP ("JMBM"), one of California's preeminent law firms is seeking a Collections Specialist with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a law firm environment for its Los Angeles office. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience working with clients, attorneys and staff at all levels. A high degree of professionalism and customer service skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities, are required. Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook), as well as proficiency in Aderant (accounting software), are a must. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Collections Specialist will be responsible for working collaboratively with the attorneys and clients to manage collections within a certain dollar range by following firm/client specific guidelines. The Collections Specialist is also responsible for providing daily updates to the A/R Manager and the Managing Partner.  Providing coverage for posting cash receipts, financial reporting (including weekly top 50, highest to lowest, and over credit limit reports), handling arbitration notices, and sending month-end reminder statements and monthly attorney A/R reports are among the Collection Specialist's regular duties. Other tasks include responding to questions related to accounts receivable, handling retainer transfers and applications, handling write-offs, research and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
  • 5 years' experience in a collections position in a law firm environment preferred
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Aderant experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Corporate Paralegal (Los Angeles)

The Corporate Paralegal creates organizational and dissolution documents for corporations (including non-profit corporations), LLCs and partnerships, and related documents. The ideal candidate should have experience with formation, merger, and dissolution of corporations, non-profit corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships. Other duties include drafting governing documents such as bylaws and operating agreements, preparing annual corporate maintenance, drafting shareholder and Board of Director minutes and assist with purchase and sale transactions. The Corporate Paralegal will also draft deeds and miscellaneous regulatory filings. Must have a minimum of 2-4 years' experience as a corporate paralegal in a law Firm or the equivalent, a four-year college degree or equivalent and ABA approved paralegal certificate.
