ADA Litigation Associate  (San Francisco)

JMBM's San Francisco office seeks an outstanding associate, with 3-4 years of experience in ADA compliance and litigation.  Experience advising clients in identifying architectural accessibility barriers and recommending steps to comply with the ADA and California Building Code is required. In addition, experience assisting clients with Internet-related compliance, including retail websites and online reservation systems is necessary. The ideal candidate will also have significant experience litigating in Federal court, including case management and trial experience.  A strong academic record and admission to the State Bar of California are required.  Department of Justice experience is helpful.  This position provides the opportunity to join one of the most dynamic ADA defense practices in the country. Labor & Employment Associate (San Francisco)

JMBM's San Francisco office seeks an associate with 3-6 years of experience to join the Firm's Labor and Employment Department. In addition to a strong employment litigation background, substantial experience in providing employment law advice and client counseling is required. Traditional labor law experience (NLRB, PERB, grievances/arbitrations and support for collective bargaining) is desired. Prevailing wage experience or interest is a plus. Land Use Associate (Los Angeles)

JMBM's Los Angeles office is seeking an associate with 2+ years of land use experience to join our preeminent Land Use & Zoning Practice (GLUEE), chaired by Benjamin M. Reznik. The ideal candidate will have experience in land use and development matters, including entitlement processing, public hearings and litigation pertaining to land use issues.

Candidates will have strong land use and CEQA experience at a major law firm. Experience with land use work, municipal law and regulatory matters is helpful, but not required.  Candidates must have a strong academic background, and excellent research and writing skills.

Patent and Trademark Associate (Los Angeles)

JMBM’s Los Angeles office has an immediate opening for an attorney with at least 3 years of experience in patent, copyright and trademark law to join its Intellectual Property Department team. A technical degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Computer Science is preferred. Experience in litigation or in administrative proceedings in the Patent and Trademark Office is a plus. A growing book of business is also a plus. Candidates must be admitted to the USPTO and be a member of the California Bar. Staff


Office Administrator (San Francisco)

JMBM is seeking an Office Administrator for its San Francisco office. This individual will be responsible for managing the office's day-to-day operations and ensuring proper support of its attorneys and support staff. Functional areas of responsibility include HR, IT, Accounting, Records and Facilities. 

This is a full-time exempt position reporting to the firm's Executive Director and the office's Co-Managing Partners; the OA will work closely with the Director of Human Resources to ensure the firm's policies and procedures are communicated and implemented appropriately. Additionally, the OA will collaborate and coordinate with other department directors & managers to ensure the firm's vision, values and objectives are achieved.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive experience managing within a law firm or professional service firm.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong HR knowledge and experience in both California and San Francisco Labor Laws (PHR or SPHR Certification, a plus)
  • Proven team player with excellent communications and collaboration skills, and the ability to motivate and take initiative
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with attorneys, management and staff and resolve conflicts with ease and diplomacy
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and problems in management areas and recommends and implements solutions
  • Ability to manage office functions economically and efficiently, organize work and establish priorities
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-through; able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
