Barry L. Burten

Barry Burten has substantial experience in general corporate, securities, financing, real estate and bankruptcy matters, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities and limited partnership offerings and exchange offers for debt and equity.

Barry's mergers and acquisitions experience includes responsibility as partner in charge of the merger, reorganization, sale or acquisition or disposition assets of both public and private entities and related financings representing both buyers and sellers in private equity transactions. Barry has also served as outside counsel to and has advised numerous private and public corporations and boards of directors on a wide array of corporate matters, including corporate governance issues. He has represented publicly-owned companies in various state and Federal securities law related matters, including formal and informal SEC investigations, extensive public offering work, and 1934 Act matters. This experience includes particular expertise in healthcare and retail companies as well as bankruptcy matters.
