JMBM is a California law firm built primarily by lateral attorneys. From its inception in 1981, the Firm has been successful with this model as evident by our growth from 12 lawyers to 125, and by our impressive lateral retention rate.

We incur expenditures carefully and invest in our business wisely. We are not dependent on a handful of major clients -- or a couple of big rainmakers -- to provide cash flow. We are not highly leveraged with associates and are not bound to the hiring practices required to support that business model. Our commitment to financial responsibility is also manifest in our a high realization rate. These conservative practices have allowed us to remain debt free, and also allow us to provide our people with healthy, merit-based bonuses at the year's end.
